Flight

Grandfather always told them about adventures his great-great-great-great uncle had on a flying carpet, which he kept in a chest in the attic. They waited until he fell asleep one day, and snuck into his room to get the key…

I made this for the Sketchoholic contest with the topic “flight”, interviewing Pixar storyboard artist James Robertson. I figured most people would draw airplanes or flying creatures, so I thought of how I might want to fly. I’ve been reading about color theory and tried to make harmonious color. One person voted for this, so it’s nice someone likes it. As always, I started with a couple of thumbnails and then drew and painted the entire picture with photoshop. I might come back and refine this later on.
